Sunderland AFC Ladies recruit Norwegian goalkeeper.

Sunderland AFC Ladies have completed the signing of Norwegian U23 goalkeeper Hilde Gunn Olsen.

The 23-year old, who has played previously for Arna Biørnar, arrives on Wearside after penning a deal with the Lady Black Cats.

Speaking about her arrival, Olsen said: “I am excited to have signed for Sunderland and to play in the top flight of women’s football in England.

“I have been highly impressed by the Club and what it has to offer. The facilities are incredible and I’m looking forward to the opportunity of training full time.”

Sunderland AFC Ladies head coach, Carlton Fairweather, added: “Hilde is an excellent signing for us, increasing competition within the squad for a place in the side. I am delighted to welcome her to the side.

“We have enjoyed a solid start to the season and are very much looking forward to getting started again this weekend.”

The Norwegian youth international joins Sunderland Ladies as they re-start their WSL1 campaign following the mid-season break for the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The Lady Black Cats are set to face Notts County Ladies at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground in Hetton this coming Sunday at 2.00pm.

Tickets for the clash are available, priced at £4.00 for adults and £2.00 for concessions, with entry free for supporters who have renewed season cards for the 2015-16 campaign at the Stadium of Light.
