New season has a excellent start.
The 95th consecutive season has got underway with a very successful 6 -a-side tournament held at the new facilities of Sutton Scotney FC.
With 12 teams entering and two divisions of 6 playing each other over a pretty hectic afternoon, Kings Somborne came out as winners of the main 6 a-side Cup after beating new Club Over Wallop 6-4 on pens and South Wonston Swifts B won the Cliff Allsop Shield beating Kingsclere 1-0.
The League welcomed new comers Over Wallop, Andover Lions Res and C.K. Andover to the new season enabling them to maintain ten in the Division, making it a very workable number.
In these days of uncertainty in local game where commitment to football has many competitors, the ADFL is rightly proud of its 95 year history but very aware that the past is nothing more than history and gives no right or assurances for the future. So we continue to encourage the transition from youth to adult footbasll, encouragingly seen in the arrival of C.K. Andover who have promoted one of their youth sides.
We welcome you to this web site and trust that supporters, players and those in admin can join forces for the future good of the local game.
