The first Sunday of the season when the weather played its part

Having had a relatively mild and dry Autumn the weather certainly played its part on Sunday when only 4 games were able to be played. Hurricane Darragh made many pitches unplayable with heavy rain from Friday night to Sunday Night.
The Trinity Trophy Quarter Finals was scheduled for Sunday with 3 of the 4 ties due to be played and in the event two of them were played and it leaves two ties to be played this coming Sunday. Emphatic wins for FC Tickhill and Kings Arms Haxey FC means both advance to the Semi Finals. F C Tickhill were just too strong for a Friendship FC Reserves team that gave their all but were beaten by a very good FC Tickhill team who on their day are a match for any in the League. The 7 goal to nil score probably tells its own story. Kings Arms Haxey FC were in dominant form at home to a disappointing White Lion FC who are going through a very difficult period at present, and Kings Arms were in no mood to show any mercy and a 6 goals to nil win was a very emphatic statement.
Just one game in Division 2 was played and in a very tight game Westwoodside FC had their best result for some weeks defeating Bridon AFC by 3 goals to 2 on a morning where good football was very difficult with driving rain and wind to contend with.
The only other game played came in Division 3 where a fast improving Ship Inn Lions were just too good on the day for a gallant Otter FC team that fully contributed to a game that was played in difficult conditions, Ship Inn Lions winning by 5 goals to 1.All other games in the League were postponed and will have to be re-arranged.
