Andy Brooks brilliant chip from the halfway line took St Martins shoulder to shoulder with leaders Seaton Town

Quick thinking by ST MARTINS striker Andy Brooks, with a snap shot from the halfway line, kept the Minster Park unit on course to snatch the Premier Division championship this week. Brooks spectacular came just seconds after visitors MORCHARD BISHOP had equalised with a Will Elsworthy penalty, and a tired jittery Saints held on to win 2-1 and pull level with leaders Seaton Town who were watching from the touchlines. Seaton have a much better goal difference so Saints must draw with Newtown on wednesday night to be champions.

Third place TOPSHAM TOWN had to settle for a 2-2 draw against a gallant ALPHINGTON RESERVES whose goals came from veteran Jason Down and 16 year old Josh Hole, but the Alphas also missed a penalty. Ace High and Ross Carstairs scored for Tops.

NEWTOWN are certain of fourth place after their 2-2 draw at HATHERLEIGH TOWN who were disappointed to squander a 2-0 lead. Luke and Morgan Reynolds were Hatherleigh scorers.

THORVERTON hit a late winner to beat BEER ALBION 2-1 Lee Riggs the scorer. Thors first half goal came from Lee Radford, James Melville equalising for the fishermen.

CLYST VALLEY are now in real relegation trouble after losing 4-2 to rivals EXETER UNIVERSITY. Robbie Miller had both Valley goals as they drew level from being two down, but tiredness cost them in the end.


BOW AAC are up to second place in Division Two after their 3-1 win at CHAGFORD which means the moormen are relegated. Adam Pidgeon was the Chagford scorer.

BEACON KNIGHTS already down rounded off their campaign with a 3-0 win against CULLOMPTON, Danny Holman 2 and Ashley May scoring, but there are still four other teams trying to avoid the drop as well.

CULM UNITED made safety with a 2-1 win at SIDBURY, Luke Jones and Adam Farmer scoring, but Sidbury still have another game to save their bacon.


Second division champions TIVERTON TOWN RESERVES were held to a 1-1 draw at promotion seeking TOPSHAM TOWN RESERVES whose Aaron Streat scored their equaliser after Owen Howe gave Tivvy the lead.

CHARD TOWN RESERVES made sure of second place after ransacking the UNIVERSITY 4THS 7-1. Greg Channing 3, Gareth Fooks 2, Joe Carbin and Luke Finn scored for Chard, Jack O'Dowd had the Uni goal.

WESTEXE ROVERS hopes disappeared under an 8-3 avalanche at HONITON TOWN whose Pete Farmer bagged a hat-trick and doubles came from Joe Dixon and Dan Broom.

COLYTON are also still in the hunt after winning 5-1 at NEWTOWN with Callum Somers scoring twice. Defeat sends Newtown down.

UPLOWMAN drew 1-1 at ELMORE with Lewis manaton getting their goal.


SOUTH ZEAL ended their season by moving into fourth place in Division Three with a 7-1 win against LYMPSTONE. Harley Cann with four goals, Redd Cann, Lee Gilbert and Darren Gilbert had Zeals goals.


52 year old Andrew Carpenter signed on for DOLPHIN to help them field a full side, and was influential in their 7-0 victory at the UNIVERSITY FIFTHS which also takes them top of Division 5. Ben Murby 2 Ricky Carpenter 2, Darren Pattison, Liam Mallett and Ryan Harris were Dolphins scorers.


Third place NEWTON ST CYRES were held 4-4 by WHIPTON & PINHOE, but still look odds on to make third place. Matt Yendall 2, Steve Heardson and Ashley Hudd scored for Cyres.

SEATON RESERVES are safe from relegation after winning 1-0 against CREDITON RESERVES. Ben Ede had the only goal.


NEWTOWN THIRDS won 1-0 at the LORDS XI and will nick the Division 5 title away from Exmouth Town Reserves if they beat Hatherleigh Reserves in their last game tomorrow night. The Lords team will be third if they match Woodburys result at St Martins next friday when they travel to Dunkeswell on cup final day.

Division 6 champions CHULMLEIGH powered to a 7-1 win at third place Uau Exeter with manager Guy Hiscock and Will Martin both scoring twice.

BOW AAC RESERVES are runners up after they beat HONITON TOWN RESERVES 6-1.


MORCHARD BISHOP RESERVES regained top spot in Division 7 after thumping SANDFORD RESERVES 6-0, Neil Carpenter scoring twice, while DAWLISH UNITED RESERVES also promoted beat STOKE HILL 8-0. Olly Williams and Tom Halfyard both struck doubles.


OTTERTON were held 2-2 in Division 8 at OFFWELL RANGERS and must win their last match at Winkleigh and hope Lympstone lose at Cheriton to finish as runners up.
