Cornerstone claimed the Cotswold Churches League Trophy in a very tight final which was a great advert for the league, full of fine football and good sportsmanship.

Pershore Town hosted this Cotswold Churches League Trophy final and both teams proved themselves worthy of the venue with a superb game of football. Underdogs Cornerstone started strongly and went ahead when the predatory Andrew Collier forced home a great cross from John Paul Lawrence but league champions Cambray reacted well and began to fashion chances of their own. Matt Kitson's movement up front for Cambray meant that he was a constant danger and only brave goalkeeping from Ricki Mills denied him an equaliser before the break. Mills, who was playing with a broken finger, continued to thwart the champions in the second half although Cornerstone posed no mean goal threat of their own, Ali Akehurst and Matt Brown giving superb performances. The passing and composure of both teams continued to be of a high standard but equally excellent defending meant that chances were few and far between. Tim Wallace and Shaun McCabe came off the bench for Cambray as they chased the game and Wallace went close with a drive from outside the box. Despite their quality and a prolific strike partnership in Kitson and Steve Jones Cambray could not break Cornerstone down and Collier's strike proved decisive in a game that was played in an excellent spirit throughout.
