All the action from Saturday's League and Cup matches

The League Challenge Cup sponsored by Buckingham Insurance took centre stage this afternoon, with the remaining five places in the quarter finals being decided.
South division leaders Selston took on North division opposition in Harworth Colliery in a fiercely competitive tie at Scrooby Road, and fell behind in the 16th minute as Paul Burgess headed Harworth into the lead. The complexion of the game was changed with two Selston goals in two minutes as first Carl Moore then Daniel Henshaw produced headed goals to boost the visitors. Moore got his second on 52 minutes but Harworth fought back with a goal from sub Josh Paskell and although they held the balance of play in the closing stages couldn’t come up with an equaliser. There was another inter-divisional tie at Debdale Park with the southern side again coming out on top, Sherwood Colliery edging out Sherwood Colliery 2-1. Danny Williams got both for the Wood, with Tideswell’s goal coming from James Handley. The local derby between Hucknall Town and Linby Colliery needed extra time to separate the teams. Jaylee Hodgson put Hucknall ahead on 34 minutes with Lewis Weaver levelling the scores after 69. Hucknall squeezed through in the extra thirty minutes, Kajally Danso getting the winner towards the end of the first period. A Guy Wilding hat trick inspired Swanwick to a 4-1 defeat of hosts Holbrook St Michaels, Chris Turner also on target. Southwell City slid to a 4-0 home defeat to rapidly improving Matlock Town Reserves. Scorers for the Gladiators were Tom Savage, Ben Edgson and Max Hunt with the fourth coming from an own goal.
FC Bolsover extended their lead at the top of the Black Dragon Badges North division to nine points, winning 2-0 at Bilsthorpe in a match which marked the half way point in their season, Daniel Russell and Adam Barrett the Bolsover scorers. It wasn’t such a good day for two of the chasing pack. Appleby Frodingham went down 2-0 at Retford, despite the home side having a player sent off in the first half. Jason Swannack gave Retford the lead before the interval with a 75th minute own goal ensuring maximum points. Clay Cross Town also suffered on the road, AFC Bentley handing out a 5-2 defeat. Goals from Shaun Mundy, Brad Maddison and Jack Varley put Bentley firmly in control, Callum Dovison pulling one back just before half time. Rod Pursehouse restored the three goal advantage on 50 minutes but Callum Lytham again reduced the arrears. Mundy’s second two minutes from time rounded off an impressive win for the home side. Welbeck Lions included several new young signings in a more encouraging performance, but still went down to an eight goal defeat at the hands of Dronfield Town Reserves. Kadiki Macdonald led the way for Dronfield with a hat trick with one apiece for Jack Lambert, Will Earl, James Savage, Ash Rycroft and Innocent Huly.
There was only limited action in the Black Dragon Badges South division, just three matches taking place. The Friday night game was a local derby at Pinxton where South Normanton were the visitors. The three points went to the Shiners, who won 2-0 with Shaun Smith and Rob Fretwell the scorers. Eastwood Community move up to second in the table following a 3-0 victory at Mickleover RBL. The almost inevitable Paddy Webb goal came in the 9th minute, James Hallam getting a second fifteen minutes later. The finishing touches were applied by Rory Smith in the final minute. Blidworth Welfare brought a little of their FA Vase form to their game with Keyworth United gaining a 2-1 win with goals from Tim Gregory and Brendan Williams, Keyworth’s scorer was Matt Antcliff.
Two goals from Jack Warner one for Mickey Taylor took Sherwood Colliery to joint top of the YourFootballWorld.com Reserve division as they beat Linby Colliery 3-1 at Church Lane, Dave Jolly the Linby scorer. Holbrook Sports beat bottom of the table Belper United thanks to a Jamie Shelton hat trick and one from Isaac Anthony-Raymond with Belper replying through Callum Burton and an own goal. A brace by Dave Robinson was just enough to see off Holbrook St Michaels 2-1, Aaron Pegg scoring for the visitors. Connor Parker and Tom Johnson both grabbed two as Mickleover RBL won 4-2 at Eastwood Community whose goals came from Ross Cheeseman and Danny Tring.
