I am sad to report that yet another of our few remaining referees is giving up due to abuse

I am sad to report that yet another of our few remaining referees is giving up due to abuse. By all reports it was very severe and prolonged verbal attacks from several people.

The league WILL be making a stand and drawing a line in the sand. We have never tolerated abuse of this type and all our efforts to recruit referees and prevent abuse have fallen on deaf ears. Enough is enough.

Rest assured action will be taken against the offenders. The few who feel they have a right to abuse referees are no longer welcome in this league. We would rather have two divisions of decent clubs than four or five littered with some of the characters we have at the moment.

Apart from the action to be taken, the future conduct of every club is now under scrutiny.
