TOPSHAM HIT SAINTS FOR SIX

TOPSHAM TOWN threw the Premier title race wide open again after an astonishing 6-2 victory at title favourites ST MARTINS. The win also gives Topsham a chance of catching Saints for second place, but that will depend on how the Minster Park side recover in their last three matches. Ace High with four goals Phil Locke and a Danny Pym penalty won it for Topsham, with Nathan Melton getting both St Martins goals.

Leaders SEATON TOWN won 1-0 at NEWTOWN with an 87th minute strike from Ben Ede. It came two minutes after Newtown had a goal disallowed for offside from a shot which came back off the post. The win takes Seaton who have finished their season six points clear so now they must sit back and wait.

BEER ALBION also won 6-2 at CLYST VALLEY after being 2-1 down at the break. Ben Burak and Dave Hood goals had relegation haunted Clyst in the driving seat, but the fishermen tore them apart in the second half. Two goal James Melville, Richard Walker, John Cooper, Simon Smith and Chris Long shared the Beer goals.

ALPHINGTON who have already been relegated after East Budleighs win in midweek, were beaten 2-0 at THORVERTON whose Lee Riggs and an own goal did little to brighten a typical end of season affair.

WILLAND ROVERS hopes of a top half finish were heightened by their 3-0 win against MORCHARD BISHOP, one of the teams they are hoping to overtake.


Division One champions EXMOUTH AMATEURS were ironically beaten 1-0 by relegated BEACON KNIGHTS whoswe Tom Burridge scored their only goal.

BOW AAC chasing the runners up spot beat EXETER CIVIL SERVICE 3-0 and the Foxhayes team who have ended their season could yet be sucked into the relegation zone.

The PHOENIX CLUB slipped out of the top three after drawing 3-3 at HEAVITREE who led 3-1 in their fight to avoid the drop. Sam Haggar, Scot Jones and Chris Dunn were Heavitrees scorers, Daniel Carpenter, Lee Hendy and Dave Brown netted the Phoenix goals.

TIPTON ST JOHN were held 1-1 at CHAGFORD which leaves the moormen in big trouble, while relegation rivals SIDBURY UTD and WITHERIDGE shared a 2-2 draw. Pete Grover and Ben Woolley had the Sidbury goals.


Division Two leaders TIVERTON TOWN beat NEWTOWN 4-1 which virtually sends the Exeter team down even if they win their last three outings.

SIDMOUTH TOWN won a bad tempered game against COLYTON 3-2, the visitors were winning 2-1 but had two players sent off including scorer Callum Hoare. Oli Tollerfield was the other Colyton marksmen.

TOPSHAM TOWN are looking good for third place after they beat HONITON TOWN 1-0. Luke Nichols was the Tops scorer.

WESTEXE promotion hopes took a dive when they were held 2-2 by UPLOWMAN ATHLETIC, whose Jordan Copp scored both goals, and Rovers keeper Simon Tolly who was with Uplowman was also sent off.

Lee Williams hit a hat-trick for a relieved PINHOE in their 5-1 win against CLYST VALLEY.

Division 3 champions BICKLEIGH ended their campaign with a 1-1 draw at Sandford with Bradley Newberry Getting their only goal.

UPOTTERY won 7-2 at WINKLEIGH and look favourites for fourth place. Chas Lane 3, Cat Pislaru, Sam Winslade and Olly Rice had the Upottery goals.


DOLPHIN looking to clinch the Division 4 title were beaten 2-1 by their nearest challengers THORVERTON who are now just a point in arrears.

HEMYOCK hopes took a dive when they fell 3-1 at struggling BAMPTON whose Liam Ayre, Connor Stone and Ryan Cottrell were the scorers.

CREDITON are also in the hunt after their 2-0 win against SEATON with Craig Stagg and Luke Venner scoring.


NEWTOWN beat CULM UNITED 4-2 and if they win their last two matches will pip Exmouth Town for the Division 5 title. Guy Privett, Mathieu Perigry, Alfie Cleave and Dimitri Raksa scored the Newtown goals.


CHULMLEIGH are Division 6 champions after winning 3-1 at FENITON but they were a goal down inside a minute. Manager Guy Hiscock, Will Martin and Jack Lee were the Chulmleigh marksmen.

The Uau Exeter were beaten 2-1 at AWLISCOMBE but are still promoted as CHERITON FITZPAINE were beaten 4-1 at TOPSHAM TOWN.

In Division 8 OTTERTON are the third team to get promotion after their 3-1 win at COLATON RALEIGH, while the MET OFFICE have to settle for fourth place despite their 1-0 win against LANGDON.
