Opening weekend arrives with a bang!

The opening weekend of SWCWFL season 09/10 got off to a great start with Chesham Utd beating newly promoted Havant and Waterlooville by 3 goals without reply. This will be H&W's first league defeat in 3 seasons after successive promotions, and underlines the increase in standard at Step 3 in the Pyramid.

Forest Green Rovers drew first blood aswell with a 4-2 victory over newly named Winscombe. Laura Bray secured a brace for Winscombe but it wasn't enough to hold off FGR.

Reading Town look like they will have a difficult season ahead after a 10-0 defeat to Newquay who were relegated from the Women's Premier League last season.

Plymouth kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 win over Yeovil and Swindon Town defeated newly promoted Cullompton Rangers.
