University College lifted the coveted Gorell Barnes Cup for the 4th time in as many seasons after a thrilling 4-3 victory over the luckless Duston United who have missed out on three trophies by the narrowest of margins. Adam Godfrey fired the students into an early lead and the talented Dan Brown hit a two-timer before the interval to put College firmly in the driving seat. Immediately after the restart an own goal gave battling Duston hope but a Dan Boswell effort restored the scholars three-goal lead. This spurred Duston on and first a Jason White header and then a Paul Edwards strike set up a grand finale finish but the College hung on for a 4-3 success and skipper Godfrey received the trophy from Mr Peter Smith of Peter Smith Recruitment Limited to go with their Premier Division title.
