Royals' Keeper McIntosh in the Spotlight

Basingstoke Royals faced an uphill task after going two goals down in their North Hants Senior Cup clash against Whitenap on Sunday. The visitors first benefited from a penalty and then a defensive mix up to their advantage. Royals clawed back into the game after Amit Bhuller finished off a Craig Barker through ball. Royals were all over Whitenap for the rest of the match, missing one really good chance before a long throw from Stuart Urquhart to Bhuller was turned into a last minute equaliser. In the penalty shoot-out, Royals buried all five penalties before James McIntosh in goal saved the last kick, to go through 5-4 on penalties.

A couple of weeks ago, Dayers Fine Foods narrowly lost a county cup match to their hosts F.I.L.O, but this time around Dayers took an early 0-2 lead, thanks to Jake Tanner and Joe Hill. F.I.L.O. fought back into the game with Dayers holding on, but two late goals took the match to extra time. Still level after extra time, the teams exchanged penalty for penalty until keeper Jack Nicholson saved one at 8-8 before stepping up to bury the winner. Final result 3-3 after extra time, 8-9 on penalties.

Quite frankly, Oakley were awful and went down 0-8 to a really good side in visitors Arms Athletic.

After only two minutes, Tron were behind to Pharmasol Appleshaw Sports. However, David Parry's first-half hat-trick put Tron in the driving seat by the end of the half. Michael Morey, Chris Morris and Morey again took the tally to 1-6, before the hosts' final consolation reduced the deficit to 2-6.

Republic of Chineham were beaten 2-5 at home by Andover Sports. Wheatsheaf ran out 5-0 winners over FC Basing, a second win over their visitors this season.

Riding high in the league, Soldiers Return faced an improving FC Everest in the cup, with an early goal ruled out for offside in a goalless first half. On their part, FC Everest missed a penalty, hitting the joint of post and bar. Alex Spencer netted from outside the area for FC Everest, who felt they controlled all bar the last ten minutes of the game, when Soldiers Return stepped up their efforts in vain to prevent their first defeat after three wins.

Basingstoke Saints progressed automatically after Halfway United scratched, being unable to field a team.

Eastrop Eagles overwhelmed Anton Arms 5-2 in the North Hants Chris Price Cup.

Hampshire Irons had the best of a hard fought tussle against visitors AFC Wolves, edging them out as 2-1 winners. Tom Chant set up Mike Pemberton to scored the only goal of the first half, with a left foot shot from just outside the area into top corner. Terry Lock broke away down the wing, pulling the ball back to Pemberton who put James Arnold clear; his sliced shot went in off the post for the winner. Irons are enjoying a five game unbeaten run.

North Warnborough's woes continued after an even first quarter against Chineham, after conceding a penalty. Peter Hodgson equalised 1-1, before the home side collapsed 1-4 by half-time and breakaway goals took the game to 1-7 after the break. Nial Day converted a home consolation before conceding an eighth goal. Chineham's scorers were Steve Emerson, James Harvey, Shane West, Kieron Alleyne, Dan Greenwood, and Marvyn White with a brace.

Revolution beat Queens Ludgershall 4-3, with a brace from Luke Manton, plus singles by Ashley Perryman and Ian Jones.

Affini Technology remain undefeated following victory at AFC Corinthians, thanks to Mark Owenson's only goal of the game.

UWS's 6-0 mauling of Kings Worthy makes them unbeaten in four games, including three straight wins.

Bramley United visited Team FC, winning 0-3, their first victory since the opening day of the season. Adam Bartlett opened the account with a 25th minute penalty, doubling the lead before the interval, with Colin Bell firing in the third on 80 minutes.

DG Athletic notched their first victory of their season, traveling to FC Anton in the North Hants John Ward Cup, winning 2-4, thanks to James Brown with a hat-trick and Kirk Good.

Chineham Athletic ran out 4-5 winners at Lardi Royals, with goals from David Fagan, Steve Hartwell, a pair by James Encott and a Dale Hooper strike.

Chineham Reserves beat their Welcome Stranger hosts 1-2, goals from Tyler Andrews and Joe Marsh.

Camrose Social lost 3-4 on penalties, after a 3-3 draw with Spartan Reserves.

Winchester side FC Common were 2-0 up after half an hour, before North Warnborough Reserves recovered to equalise. In the second half they ran away with the game, finishing 2-5, with four goals from Sean Delfosse's boots. Now Borough are unbeaten in six away games.

Collingbourne were 2-0 up by half-time and the hosts were clearly the better side. Although Soldiers Return Reserves improved in the second half, there was no further score.

FC Benidorm of Stoke found themselves in the next round after Trants scratched from the event.
