Wallasey & District Sunday Football League Report

MES Ltd First Division
Vineyard moved into pole position in the MES Ltd First Division on goal difference after serving a 6-1 defeat to Lottie Dod thanks to a hat-trick from Ethan Simon and singles from Callum Morrison, Jason Rigby and Tom Mole and they remain unbeaten, with Liam Pitt claiming the only response.

PLCCFC gained second spot following their 4-1 defeat of close rivals Finnigan FC as Luca Murtagh, Lee Davey, Owen Ainscough and Alan Cotter all bagging a goal apiece, with Dale Crawford scoring the lone reply.

A goal each from Morgan Catterson and Macauley Lathom gave Wallasey Wanderers a slender 2-1 success over Trident (Josh Perry) to give themselves their first win of the campaign, but drop Trident down to third in the division,

Adam Larway was a two-goal marksman for Shore Villa as they beat North West Harriers 2-1, who had Luke Roberts netting their only goal, but it could have been better if an early penalty had not been squandered.

Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division
Leading the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division with a 100% record are Barnston FC due to their 3-0 eclipse of Liscard Brazil as Connor James and Ben Ryan-2 inflicted defeat on their close rivals.

An even encounter between FC Greasby and AFC Shore Villa was decided by a last-minute penalty as Villa won 2-1. Scorers for Villa were Dylan Wilkinson and Nathan Saunders, with Lewis Seymour netting for under strength Greasby in a good game.

Despite efforts from Harry Nicholas and Elliott Powell, Cheshire Vikings were repelled by New Brighton Town in a 5-2 defeat. Oscar Pugh, Tom Lasnier, Tom Evans, James Carlin and an unfortunate own goal secured the points.

AFC Bromborough hit top form when beating Park Royal 8-1 thanks to Kieran Hughes and Isaac Hamilton both scoring doubles and Harry Taylor, Riley Jones, Kalis Brown and Callum Whiting adding the extras. The consolation goal coming from Matty Scott as Bromborough eased into second place on goal difference.

Cheshire FA Sunday Cup & The Passey/Triggs Trophy
Best wishes are expressed to both Finnigan FC and PLCCFC for their Cheshire FA Sunday cup ties next week and good luck is wished to all other teams in the new look Passey/Triggs Trophy competition in memory of two of our excellent but departed LMC members Dave Passey and Ken Triggs.
