The NEW look OCFA season has kicked off with goals flying in everywhere, below is a round up of the first two weeks of the season.

WEEK ONE
SUMMERTOWN AFC boosted by new team sponsors 106 Jack FM and a new manager in David Farbrother, couldn’t have wished for a better start with a 5-0 home win against MASONS ARMS FC. Their goals came from C. APPIAH, O. ABIOLA, A. MARTIN, B. WILLIAMS and A. HEBBACHI.
NEW entrants ZUBRY (OXFORD)FC also started well with a 7-0 away win against FAIRVIEW FC, a well organised and fit ZUBRY team outplayed an under strength FAIRVIEW. Matters were made worse for FAIRVIEW as they went down to ten men at the start of the second half, which didn’t help their cause. TOMASZ SEREDNISKI and SEBASTIAN CLEKIELSKI scored two each with ANDRZEJ KRASON, TOMASZ SAMOLUK and MACIEY PALKAL wrapped up the scoring for ZUBRY.
A NEW look WHEATLEY YOUTH FC played host to another of the NEW entrants EAST OXFORD FC, it was EAST OXFORD who opened the scoring through a MATTY WARMINGTON goal. But BRADLEY BOODELL found the net before the break to make the teams go in all level at half time. In a well fought and well defended match, it was BRADLEY BOODELL who once again found the back of the net to bag himself a brace and secure WHEATLEY YOUTH FC with an opening day victory.
CHEQUERS FC started their season in the same way, they finished the last. They came away comfortable 8-1 winners against NEW entrants THAME UNITED CHURCHES FC.

WEEK TWO
In a weekend that saw TWO local derbies, it was very much a case of goals, goals and more goals. The first derby saw MASONS ARMS FC draw 1-1 with FAIRVIEW FC at Margaret Road, MASONS pressed for an early goal and CHRIS FRUIN saw his attempt hit the woodwork. But it was SID MOBBS who broke the deadlock when he slotted home from 10 yards to put FAIRVIEW FC in front, MASONS ARMS equaliser came from TIM SMALL who calmly found the corner of the net. Although MASONS ARMS pushed hard for a second half winner, FAIRVIEW held on to take a point each.
The second derby was between the two teams from the north of the city, where NORTH OXFORD CONSERVATIVE CLUB (SAT) FC played host t o SUMMERTOWN AFC. In what can only be described as a real “end to end” game. It was SUMMERTOWN AFC who took the honours in this game by claiming a narrow 5-6 victory, SUMMERTOWN AFC had three braces from ALEX THOMPSON, OLA ABIOLA and FREDERICK NDUNGU to thank for the three points, NOCC’s JACOB GILL got himself a hat-trick and goals from MIKEY O’SHEA and LUKE CARTER made it a close finish.
EAST OXFORD won 8-0 away to THAME UNITED CHURCHES in a game where injuries impacted significantly for Thame. Within the first ten minutes of a fairly even start to the game THAME UNITED CHURCHES found themselves going down to ten men through injury. Good quality football from EAST OXFORD resulted in them starting to dominate the game, with THAME 1-0 down at half time both teams were still hopeful of getting a result. But Thame’s hopes were cruelly dashed after just 15 minutes of the second half, when they suffered a second injury which resulted in the injured player taking over between the posts for Thame. A deluge of goals for EAST OXFORD ensued with some fine finishing, NATHAN MERRY got a hat-trick, SHANE WALLEY bagged a brace and a goal each for JOSH BROWN and CRAIG ABSOLOM sealed the three points for EAST OXFORD.
In the other league fixture CHEQUERS FC maintained their good start to the season, with a 3-1 win against WHEATLEY YOUTH FC.
