A festive message from WCYL Chairman

Dear All,

As we head into the league's Christmas break I would like to take this opportunity to thank all clubs, coaches and officials for their fantastic efforts over the opening months of the season. We as a committee knew it was going to be a difficult period as we adjusted to our new roles but it must be said that for the most part this has been made a lot easier by clubs and officials willingness to adapt and allow flexibility especially regarding fixture or venue changes and use of all weather facilities. As a result the majority of teams in all the age groups are well on target for finishing their first set of fixtures by the end of January despite our late start to the season. We look forward to the 2nd set of fixtures and cup competitions of which we will announce details as soon as we have them.
On a personal note I must also thank all the members of the committee who have worked tirelessly to get us up and running and keeping the league on track....I for one am astounded at just how much work running a youth league takes and it really has been a team effort. As a committee we will be meeting early in the New Year to discuss how we can now take the league forward and develop what we already have for the benefit of football in the area.
All that remains is for us as a committee to wish all Coaches, Officials, Players and Parents a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
