Wheatsheaf gather in the points

Basingstoke Saints played well for 35 minutes on Sunday against Division 1 visitors Wheatsheaf, and created a few chances, but simply couldn’t take them. There was only one goal between the sides at the interval, 0-1 to Wheatsheaf. By coincidence, both regular keepers were missing through, so any shots on target were at a premium. In the second half it was Wheatsheaf whose shots were the more accurate, finally running out 0-5 winners. George Jones scored in the first half, Daniel Dedman, Trent Barrington, Harry Rudge, and, from the penalty spot, Jones tapped in to complete his brace.

In Division 2, Bramley United entertained Hampshire Irons, with Les Wood opening the home account, with two headers from corner kicks, on 30 and 35 minutes. Colin Bell added a third to take the half-time score to 3-0. In the second half, the weakened Hampshire Irons pulled one back from a Mike Pemberton free kick, after Michael Wood was brought down on the edge of the area, for 3-1. It could have been 3-2, but Terry Lock's effort which beat the keeper bounced out off the crossbar. Bramley took advantage of the miss and Andrew Best, Stuart Leddy, and Adam Bartlett added strikes, while Les Wood completed his hat-trick, result 7-1 to Bramley United.

North Warnborough were short of available players for this rearranged fixture against visitors Revolution, and found themselves an early goal down, with the defence beaten by a ball over the top. After the goal, the hosts settled and improved, but were again hit on the break, with a well-taken goal. In the second half North Warnborough had a lot more possession and created chance after chance, but the Revolution keeper made at least a dozen brilliant saves, before the visitors scored their third from a free kick. Ashley Perryman, Dan Manton and Craig Atkinson netted for Revolution.

UWS beat Team 3-0, giving them a run of wins in their last three home games.

The top two sides in Division 3 met, with FC Benidorm of Stoke at home to leaders North Warnborough Reserves. The result was a win for the visitors 1-4, which completed the league double over their rivals. This was only FC Benidorm of Stoke's first home defeat of the season, after a run of six wins. Their only goal came from an own goal after a Taylor Watts' cross. North Warnborough Reserves actually only started the game with ten men and it was Dean Frost who slotted in their opening goal after a rebound off the keeper.

DG Athletic won 0-2 away at Basingstoke Saints Reserves, with James Brown scoring a brace. This result made it DG's first back to back wins this season.

Chineham Athletic were crushed 0-7 to Camrose Social, with scorers Dave Purt with a hat-trick, Adam Robinson with a brace and Chris Waller. This was Camrose's first win after three successive defeats.

Tyler Andrews scored a hat-trick for Chineham Reserves, but his side slid to a 5-3 defeat away at Soldiers Return Reserves. Matt Kelly set the ball rolling with a goal after only five minutes, netting after a one on one with the keeper. Tom Hartley added a second for the hosts before Tyler Andrews pulled one back by the interval, which failed to reflect Soldiers' dominance. The game was more even after the break until James Boshier hit Soldiers' third with a thunderbolt from the edge of the area. Luke Charles made it 4-1 after a Callum Silcox pass. Andrews pulled one back on the break 4-2 before Jake Mead converted a cross 5-2. Andrews completed his hat-trick by way of consolation.

Republic of Chineham travelled to Broughton in the Andover Presidents Cup. The scores were level 1-1 at the end of normal time, with Republic of Chineham triumphant 1-2 after extra time. They will face either Arms Athletic or Andover Sports in the semi-finals.
