Following the decisions taken at the League AGM in June i'ts 'all change' at Andover!
Just to give you an update on the current situation mentioned in previous articles, the AGM confirmed the Leagues decision to take part in the two year pilot scheme rolled out by FIFA and endorsed by the FA with the substitutes ruling now allowing five named players to enter the field of player on what is generally referred to as 'rolling subs'!So for all Competitions other than our Open Cup Competition this rule is adopted for this coming season. Incidentally we are, apparently, only one of three Leagues in the County taking this step and we will be required to monitor the scheme through the season, reporting back to the Hampshire FA.
The other innovative suggestion, which was also adopted at the AGM, was the 'Over 30's Division' designed to be played mid-week under lights when Clubs can enter a team of players who must be aged 30 or over on the day of the match. Teams need to be registered with the League and players need to be registered for this particular Competition even if they are already registered to play in the League. The main ruling is that players msut be under level 7 which basically brings it to the level oif local grassroots football and could involve players in the local Saturday and Sunday Leagues. Players registered in any higher League are not permitted to take part.
