In the Everards Brewery Premier Division this weekend, Desford stayed top as they returned to winning ways in a tight game at Highfield Rangers. In the first half, Raijaun Morris-Laing scored for the hosts whilst Louis Rood riposted for the visitors, the scores level at the break, before Jake McLeary scored the winner in the second half, Desford winning 2-1. Aylestone Park Reserves went second with the comeback of the day. They were 2-0 down at Sileby Town thanks to goals from Chris Shaw and Mitch Woodbine, but it was a totally different story after the break, as Shea Bates, Bayem Onelum and sub Evan Kane turned it round for the Park, who came out 3-2 winners. Anstey Town are third after a 4-0 win at home to Burbage & Huncote, Joseph Hartopp scoring in the first half before the floodgates opened in the second period, with an OG, and subs Harry Burton and Conor Jackson giving the scoreline extra varnish, B&H remain bottom of the table.
Just above Burbage at the bottom on goal difference only are Friar Lane & Epworth, who were thumped 6-2 at home to Leicester Atletico, for whom Kosisochukwu Ezeja scored a hat-trick, Khalid Mohamud a brace and sub Mohammed Hogsade got on the scoresheet, Atletico scoring four times in the last 25 minutes, Solomon Agyeman scoring twice for Friar Lane. Cottesmore are also still searching for their first points, after they lost 2-0 at Thurnby Rangers, Farran Pope and Connor King scoring for Thurnby in the second half.
It was a tense game at Pasture Lane, as AFC North Kilworth travelled the full length of the county to play Hathern, only to lost to an 84th minute tap-in from Kai Williams for the home team after NK ran out of steam in the later stages. Hathern are in fourth, two points behind Desford. The other game in the Prem saw Ellistown's inconsistent start continue, as they lost 2-1 at home to Magna 73, Fin Thomas giving Magna the lead, before a freak own goal put Ellistown back on level terms and left Magna skipper Matt Richmond injured and needing to be helped from the field. Magna though regained their composure and Arjuna Govia scored the winner late on to give them all three points.
