One again the weather adversely affected the league’s fixture programme however for NAPIT ONE title challengers Hasland Devonshire there was good news as they took to the field for only the second time in 2016, indeed they have only played four times since November the 22nd last year. They took full advantage of the opportunity as well, beating Creswell Black Diamond by two goals to one to move above Hepthorne Lane to the top of the division, Danny Mason and Jordan Foster scoring the winning goals.

In THREE Newbold beat New Inn Tupton 5-1 to go second behind leaders Renishaw MW who didn't play. Sam Finlaw produced a match winning performance, hitting a hat trick in the win, Ben Copestake and Ben Townsend adding goals number four and five. Oaks FC and Hollingwood Athletic shared four goals and the points in a 2-2 drawn game.

Duckmanton Community’s trials and tribulations continued in FOUR as they were on the wrong end of a 12-0 drubbing by Spartans. Community have now conceded sixty-eight goals in twelve games and have a goal difference of minus fifty-two, picking up one point in the process. Craig Tromans is a man with an eye for goal and he took full advantage of Community’s fragile defence by claiming five goals in the victory to take his total to twenty-two for the season. Not far behind was Sean Byrne who bagged a treble, there goals added to by Kane Conroy, Simon Ross, Liam Simmonds and Malc Jelley.

Into FIVE and Renishaw Rangers made it twelve wins from twelve starts by beating Bolsover Town by four goals to one, extending their lead at the top of the division to eleven points. Antony Deane hit two goals in the victory, John Parsons and Mark Robinson one each. Grassmoor Sports are second after beating Barlow Kingston Rovers by five goals to one, skipper John Donaldson leading by example, scoring twice, Ash Walters, Liam Ainger and Scott Chambers scoring once each.

SEVEN’s Newbold Community Football training put seven past Markham Arms the previous week, bettering that by three to hammer Dronfield Town 10-1. Josh Bennett didn't find the net against Arms but did so on five occasions against Town. Antony Brown scored twice, Steve Haywood, Dan Hodson and Luke Wadsworth- Thurnham once. At Highfield Park Ye Olde Nags Head just edged out New Bolsover Social Club by five goals to four in a tense encounter. Jordan Sambrook scored twice for the winners, Martin Cox, James Thompson and Richard Atkinson once apiece.

In the Dey and Co Alma Cup 2-2 was the score after ninety minutes, 3-3 after one hundred and twenty minutes in the game between Crispin Casuals and Clowne Wanderers Reserves before the former went through to the next round, winning the resulting penalty kick shoot-out 4-1. AFC North Wingfield and Glapwell Gladiators played out an exciting game in the Chatsworth Cup with the former winning by five goals to three, whilst in the Hutson Spartans 2nds won 4-1 at Lockoford Inn, Furnace Hill Hurricanes 7-4 at Britannia Tupton in a game in which three players scored hat tricks, Mark Vine for Britannia, Pete Stubley and Neil Hollingworth for Furnace Hill.

In the Derbyshire Junior Cup Britannia Rose saw their excellent cup run come to an end at the semi-final stage as they were beaten at Poolsbrook by Castle Donnington Town. Town were the pre-season favourites to lift the trophy but were made to work really hard to overcome a spirited Rose side before seeking through to final, winning 3-2.
