All eyes were on the race to become winners of NAPIT FOUR on Sunday and after both Steelmelters and Woodthorpe Inn won it appears that the trophy will be in the hands of one of them come the end of the season. Dronfield Miners currently head the table with forty-two points, however they have completed their fixtures whilst the Steels and Woodthorpe have four games left with forty-one and forty points respectively. Steelmelters won by a 4-1 margin Over Pilsley, Dave Kelly scoring twice, Lewis McGuinnes and Curt Birchall one each. Woodthorpe emphatically beat the leaders 7-1 with Sharman hitting a treble and if the title is decided on goal difference Woodthorpe's is vastly superior to Steelmelters. Spartans ended their campaign with a solid performance against Newbold which resulted in them winning 4-1 although it did not prevent them finishing bottom. A goal from Craig White was enough to hand victory to Lowgates Sports over Brimington Park Colts whilst New Whitt B and Harleys Scarlets drew 2-2.

In SIX Hady Villa clinched the title several weeks ago and Crown Killamarsh have had one hand on the runners up trophy for a similar length of time. However their recent form has dipped but they regained it in fine style as they beat Villa 5-1 to finally take possession. On target in the excellent win were Buckley, Whitehead, Page, Whitehouse and Beety. Dronfield Wanderers won 2-0 at Hasland WMC in the division's other game, Thurnham and Stevens with the goals.

There were two games in the league's top flight with Brampton Rovers beating Eckington Boys 3-1 and AFC Whitecotes and Renishaw MW drawing 4-4. It has been a testing time this season for Rovers who almost folded earlier but they finished on a high thanks to goals from Crowder, Montague and Martin. Latham 2, Wright and Mason scored for Whitecotes against Renishaw for whom Pleweki, Spinks, Grainger and Pemberton.

Two Ben Hawksworth goals for Matlock Town Wanderers in THREE condemned bottom club Steelmelters Arms Killamarsh to a twelfth defeat, it now seems inevitably where they will end the season. Josh Charlesworth and Connor Marsden both scored twice, Sam Hall once as Creswell Black Diamond beat Red Lion Whitt Moor 5-1 whilst Hopflower Athletic lost 3-1 to Newton George and Dragon whilst Champions West Killamarsh played out a forgettable goal-less draw with Hollingwood Athletic.

In FIVE Hasland Community's 5-3 defeat at Newbold Sports handed North Wingfield MW an excellent opportunity to finish the season as runners up. Community are still second but the defeat leaves North Wingfield a point behind them with two games to play as opposed to Community who have completed their fixtures. Champions Clowne Wanderers Reserves' Richard Cooper scored twice as they beat Gate Inn North Wingfield 2-1 with the other game in FIVE between Brimington Utd and Old Whittington MW ending level at 3-3.

The NAPIT SEVEN title race hangs in the balance as a fantastic Oxcroft Utd performance saw them thrash bottom club Dronfield Town 12-3 to go level on points with Duckmanton Community with both sides having two fixtures remaining. As the goals flew in it was Nick Grayson who took the limelight as he hit four of the winning goals, Kimberley and Murcott scoring twice each, A Grayson, Marshall, Gill and Barke completing the rout. Britannia Tupton won 3-1 at Grassmoor Sports Reserves whilst Boot and Shoe and Squadron Medical had a rock hard, bumpy pitch with grass the length you would expect to find in a cow pasture to battle as well as each other. In the event some decent football was played as the former just shaded it by the odd goal in seven.

On Sunday the teams contesting the Chatsworth and Hutson Cup Finals should have no such problems with both finals being played on the superb Claycross Town ground. In the Chatsworth NAPIT THREE champions West Killamarsh take on FOUR title hopefuls Woodthorpe Inn at 2.15 pm whilst prior to that at 10.45 am Duckmanton Community take on Crown Killamarsh in the Huston which has a brand new sponsor for the final and next season's competition in Somersall Financial Management Ltd.
