It was domestic cup day on Sunday in the NAPIT League with four ties played in the Dey and Co ALMA CUP, four in the CHATSWORTH and five in the HUTSON. In the ALMA ONE side Hasland Devonshire took on AFC Bolsover who are currently second in NAPIT TWO. On paper, at least, an upset could well have been on the cards, however in the event an excellent Devonshire side won at a cantor by four goals to one. Gary Hulland did find the back of Devonshire's goal but the prolific Lee Clay's treble plus one from Gaz Davey leaves Devonshire on course to reach their second final of the season having already reached the final of Derbyshire Senior Sunday Cup. Another top division side faced a tricky tie, Renishaw MW who were drawn away at TWO West End Killamarsh but they won probably more easily than they might have thought by five goals to nil, Kyle Pemberton scoring twice, Luke Hatcroft, Aiden Ordidge and Ryan Spinks once. In an all two NAPIT TWO clashes Whit Moor Red Lion who have only won once in the league this season took on fourth placed Wingerworth BMB. In the league eighteen points separate the clubs but Red Lion produced possibly their best display of the season to record a superb 2-1victory. The odd goal in five was all that separated Dronfield Vics and Matlock Town Wanderers and it was Wanderers who scored it to win the tie. Wanderers match winners were Steve Wood who scored twice and Matt Wilkinson.

In the CHATSWORTH Club FC of FOUR took on THREE's bottom side Steelmelters Arms Killamarsh and unceremoniously dumped them out of the competition, thrashing them 12-1. As Club ran riot Ash Walters and Conner Scott both scored hat tricks whilst Shane Dickins scored two, Ryan Garbutt, Nathan Pears, Scott Heggarty and Ritchie Henson all scored one. Cometh the hour cometh the man the saying goes and one such man is Spartans goalkeeper Paul Holmes. His side raced into a 3-1 lead despite being reduced to ten men against Clowne Wanderers Reserves. They increased the lead to 4-1 in the second half but Wanderers staged a tremendous fightback, to trail by just one goal. They then had the chance to level from the penalty spot but Holmes produced a fine save to deny them however he was unable to prevent them from scoring a late equaliser to take the tie into extra time which failed to produce a winner, hence the dreaded penalty shoot-out. Having failed to beat Holmes from twelve yards earlier in the shoot-out they failed on a further three occasions as he produced top notch saves to deny them and send his team through to the next round as they won it 3-1 on penalties. Hady Villa ensured a safe passage into the next round by beating Holmehall,1st by four goals to one, Steve McMahan scoring a couple, Carl Twell and Micky Darnell one each. Duckmanton Community took on Oaks FC and lost to them by three goals to one. Josh Thomas, Luke Henstock and Dean Daqueman with the goals.

Into the HUTSON and Brampton Rovers Reserves faced off against Fidlers Rest in a game that came to life after a quiet first twenty minutes when Rovers had a goal ruled out for offside however within two minutes they had taken the lead which they doubled before half time, adding two more goals in the second, Fidlers scoring a late consolation goal. Furnace Hill Hurricanes also made straightforward progress, goals from Adam Seward, three of them plus one from Neil Hollingworth enough to beat Dronfield Town 4-0. In stark contrast the game between Hasland Wanderers and Charlies Bar Clay Cross was a nine goal thriller with the former just shading it 5-4. Brimington United Shoes took on Renishaw MW Reserves and it was the latter that could have taken an early lead through a penalty. However Adam Rhodes who last week scored a penalty for Brim United, was once again the hero, making an exceptional save to keep the score 0-0. As the half progressed Shoes took the lead through Andrew Mosley. In the second half, Renishaw equalised early on but that only spurred Shoes on as they turned the screw and showed their class. First Steven Browne scored a fantastic long range effort before Mark Mowbray scored yet another goal to make the final score 3-1. Spartans 2nds enjoyed success just like their first team as they beat Ye Old Royal Oak 3-0.

In the league Creswell Black Diamond and Eckington Boys drew 2-2 in NAPIT ONE whilst in TWO Woodthorpe Inn beat Black Swan 2-0 to extend their lead at the top to six points. Chris Collins and Sean Brailsford were on target for AFC North Wingfield as they won 2-1 at Brampton Oak Sports.

In FOUR leaders Newbold's 2-1 win over Crown Killamarsh extended their advantage over Chesterfield Arms to ten points as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Oxcroft Utd. On target for Newbold were Dan Bradbury and Conner Martin Marshall, Grayson and Ward scored for Oxcroft with Ben Stacey, Mark Woods and John Midgley scoring for Chesterfield Arms.

In SEVEN bottom side Renishaw Rangers TFC entertained Squadron Medical and beat them by the odd goal in nine, Oliver Norton scoring three, Jamie Scrimshaw and Josh Atkinson one each. Dave Canning scored in his Glapwell Gladiators sides 3-0 win over Newbold Community Football Training along with Sam Lomas and Luke Pilgrim.
