The first rounds of the Derbyshire Senior and Junior Cups were held on Sunday and in the Senior pride of place went to NAPIT TWO side Dronfield Woodhouse who scored a dramatic injury time goal to eliminate NAPIT ONE Clowne Wanderers at Clune Street. What made the victory even more remarkable was the fact that Woodhouse played the entire game with only ten men ! Wanderers predictably went ahead early in the game through Antony Rowley, Regan Edridge doubling the advantage before Kieran Loftus pulled one back before the break. Wanderers dominated for long periods in the first half but in the second Woodhouse came into their own as Loftus deservedly equalised. Wanderers were guilty of wasting several good scoring opportunities and it looked like that wastefulness would cost them as five minutes from the end they conceded a penalty. However the spot kick was put wide and extra time looked to be in the offing before Karl Hobson popped up to deflect a cross past Wanderers keeper ninety seconds into stoppage time. Killamarsh Juniors Athletic have yet to win in ONE but against one of the best sides in the competition Copsey Croft they came good, Gary Parsons scoring twice, Aidy Parsons and Jack Stanley scoring once to earn them a memorable 4-0 success. Tibshelf Town also went through to the next round as Scott Vardy scored twice, Steve Webster and Paul Holmes once in a 4-3 at Woodville. TWO leaders AFC Bolsover easily beat Woodthorpe Inn 4-0 as Steve Humble scored twice, Ashley Cheetham and Gary Hulland once. Dronfield Victoria just edged out Hollingwood Athletic by five goals to four.

In the Junior Cup AFC North Wingfield entertained Woodville Rangers Reserves and beat them 2-0 to go through to the next round, Andy Woolvern and John Smith on target. In an all NAPIT clash Jack Yeomans hit a hat trick and Dan Locke added a fourth as New Whitt B beat Spartans 4-0. Gareth Bally scored twice as Duckmanton Community beat Oxcroft Utd 4-2, New All Inn comfortably beat Abbey Court Car Sales 6-0 Matt Gregory scoring four times. Also going through are Oaks FC who beat Spinners Arms 2-0, Rob Asquith scoring both goals, Newbold who just beat Renishaw MW Reserves 4-3, Steve Hill scoring a couple this despite Gavin Poulton scoring three for the losers, Harleys Scarlets, 2-1 winners against Barlow Kingston Rovers, Grant Bannister and Lee Wells with the goals and finally Pilsley Community who beat Ark Tavern 4-0, Tyler Barksby, Tom Hewitt, Shaun White and Daniel Kerlin with the winning goals.


Back in the league leaders Hasland Devonshire met second placed FC Britannia in NAPIT ONE and for the second week running Devonshire were held to a draw. Perennial goal getter Lee Clay added two more to his impressive CV but Nathan Whitehead and Chris Bettany's goals earned Britannia a valuable point. Renishaw MW are third on goal difference following an excellent 4-2 victory at New Whitt, Neil Ashley, Ryan Spinks, Jason Tyler and Danny Talbot With the goals. Meanwhile Creswell Black Diamond recorded an excellent 3-1 win at Hopflower thanks to goals from Jordan Claxton, Ricky Machin and Daniel Ward. Hepthorne Lane were also victors in ONE, goals from Ryan Walters and Joe Tomlinson beating Eckington Boys.

Just two games in TWO and Black Swan were looking for their first win of the season when they entertained Brampton Rovers JMA. There was little to choose between the two sides but Swan did secure that important first success courtesy of Josh Marshall whose goal was all that separated the two sides at the end of play. In the second of the two games West End Killamarsh beat Matlock Town Wanderers by two goals to nil, Nick Hanwell and Jordan Woodhead the scorers.

Brampton Oak Sports had not won in NAPIT THREE and neither had their opponents Steelmelters Arms Killamarsh so a close contest looked to be on the cards however the game turned out to be very one sided as Sports hit the goal trail putting nine past Arms, Dan Wainwright helping himself to a treble, Ash Redman scored twice with Dale Blunkett, Dave Lewis, Jason Wibraham and Darren Wilkinson scoring once. Hady Villa eased past Creswell Black Diamond by four goals to nil.

In FOUR Crown Killamarsh are the new leaders after strikes from Richard Mason and Danny Holmes earned them a 2-1 win over Club FC whilst Hasland Community won 2-1 at Gate Inn North Wingfield in FOUR'S other fixture.

Brimwood Utd have moved seamlessly from Youth League football to Senior football, so much so that Sunday's 3-1 win over Travellers Clowne, their third successive win, moved them to the top of FIVE. Jack Wynn scored twice Aaron Black once. Carl Newell and Chris Marshall both scored twice, Jordan Renshaw, once, as Brimington Utd beat Old Whitt 5-2 whilst in a tight game between Renishaw Rangers and Royal Oak Rangers, Royal Oak shaded it 3-2.

Scott Martin's four goal blast in addition to Charlie Scattergood's brace moved Brampton Rovers Reserves to the summit of NAPIT SIX as Rovers outclassed Holmehall to win 6-0. Gardners Clay Cross were also winners and are second as a result, Craig Young, Steven Rodgers and Rickie Fullwood's goals earning them a 3-1 win over Hasland Wanderers. Evolution continue to leak goals at an alarming rate and they shipped eight more as they were thrashed 8-1 by a formidable Furnace Hill Hurricanes outfit with Neil Hollingworth leading the way with a treble, Scott Alton and Adam Seward hitting two apiece, Jamie Ritchie one. In a Hasland derby Matt Bower, Chris Hughes and Dave Richards' goals saw Hasland WMC beat Hasland Community Eagles by the odd goal in five.

In NAPIT SEVEN Grassmoor Sports Reserves lead the way following their 5-2 win over Brimington Club with Ben Bower leading them to victory with his four goals in the game. Brimington Utd Shoes are second following a 4-2 win at Newbold CFT, Peter Roberts scored twice, Richard Rigley and Mark Mowbray completing the scoring for Shoes. Glapwell Gladiators Dave Canning hit a hat trick as his side beat Squadron Medical 4-2. Charlie's Clay Cross Athletic also won, their win coming against Nags Head by a 2-1 Margin.
