A busy Sunday in the NAPIT LEAGUE with not only league games but Alma, Chatsworth, Hutson and Derbyshire Sunday Cup games taking place as well.
Starting in the league in NAPIT ONE and Hepthorne Lane have been enjoying one of their best seasons in the league for several years and when they took on Clowne Wanderers at Clune Street they new a victory would move them to within two points of leaders Hasland Devonshire and two goals from Cal Mawby, which cancelled out a Ryan Edridge goal for Wanderers, did exactly that and put them six points clear of third placed Doe Lea who beat Hopflower Utd 4-1, Fitzpatrick, Spencer, Lambird and Mitchell scoring the winning goals.
In TWO just one game was played and it saw Brampton Rovers JMA routed by an excellent Creswell Black Diamond Reserves side by six goals to one. Diamond's goals were shared around the team with Sam Gray, Josh Graveson, Jay Hall, Dan Jackson, Ash Ruse and Aaron Beech all on target.

THREE leaders Renishaw MW have been a force to be reckoned with all season long and when lowly Pilsley Community took them on they began the day as underdogs, however Steven Wright's goal scoring prowess helped them pick up a point in a high scoring game which saw eight goals shared between the two sides. Wright was on target three times, Tom Newman adding the fourth whilst for Renishaw Jamie Plawecki scored twice, Tom Rhodes and Barry Allberry once.

In FOUR the Brimington United Shoes v Brampton Rovers game was a classic game of two halves. Shoes completely outplayed Rovers in the first half and raced into a two goal lead. Mark Mowbray scored the first after some great work by Alex Howard, Mowbray then turning provider for Howard who scored Shoes second. The second half was completely different however as this time it was Rovers who were on top scoring twice through Rob Marchetta to restore parity before Howard turned provider again for Mowbray’s second to restore Shoes lead. However leaders Rovers showed just why they sit on top of the division as Connor Martin, George Ward and Aaron Montague scored to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. There were even more goals in the Club FC Old Whittington MW game, twelve in fact as the former won an amazing clash by eight goals to four. Dale Hegarty starred for Club, hitting an impressive treble with Nathan Pears, Gareth Brooks, Scott Hegarty, Stephen Adams and Dean Gibson weighing in with a goal apiece, Ed Clarke scoring a couple for Old Whittington. In complete contrast neither AFC Castle or Crown Killamarsh could 'buy' a goal as they played out a goal-less draw.

In FIVE Grassmoor Sports closed the gap on leaders Renishaw Rangers to five points by convincingly beating bottom side Glapwell Gladiators by six goals to nil. Skipper John Donaldson led from the front by scoring twice with Andrew Woolvern and Luke Adlington doing likewise. Barlow Kingston Rovers continued their improvement with a steady 3-1 win over Gate Inn North Wingfield, Ed Biggin scoring twice Chris Cuniffe once. A tight seven goal game between Gardeners Clay Cross and Brampton Rose went the way of the former thanks to strikes from Rogers twice, Palfreyman and Seward.

Jack Warwick scored four times in a five star display in SIX by Evolution as they beat leaders Whitecotes Wanderers by four goals to one and go third in the table in the process. Elsewhere there was some indifferent defending and inspired attacking to be found as no fewer than thirty-three goals were scored in the other three games with the game between Hasland Community Eagles and Lockoford Inn ended 8-5 in Eagles favour. Take a bow Adam Flint as the Eagles man hit five goals in the victory and spare a thought for Mark Crain who scored a hat trick for Lockoford. AFC Steelmelters and Astwith All Stars scored twelve times between them, Steelmelters seven times, Astwith five. Hot shot Rod Glover hit a hat trick for the winners Justin Deakin scored twice for the losers. Mark Rawson and Jonathan Woods both scored a couple as the division’s other game ended 6-2 in favour of Hasland WMC, Woodthorpe Wanderers the beaten side this time.

In SEVEN the top two sides, Darley Dale Red Star and Brimington Club both won with Red Star winning a tricky tie at Oxcroft against a below par Anchor Inn Clowne by five goals to one. Just one goal separated the sides at the interval but Red Star had the ‘Stute’ slope in their favour in the second period and took full advantage to score four more. Club took on Renishaw Rangers TFC and beat them 4-2 thanks to two Reece Nutall goals plus one apiece from Cameron Hutton and Paul Johnson. Mid table sides Spartans 2nds and Ye Olde Nags Head met and it was Spartans who came out on top of an entertaining affair by five goals to three. For Spartans Saul Asquith it was not just an entertaining game but a truly memorable one as he scored all five of his teams goals.

Into the cup competitions and in the Alma NAPIT ONE Tibshelf Town were severely tested by West End Killamarsh from TWO but in the end they just shaded the game by three goals to two, Armstrong, Radford and Webster with the winning goals.

In the Chatsworth Steve Miller scored both goals as New Inn Tupton beat fellow THREE side Newbold 2-1. Oaks FC sit comfortably in third place in THREE whilst Butchers Arms just below mid table in FOUR but the two sides league standings counted for little as Arms won the tie 5-1 with another outstanding display of goal scoring on show, this time from Mark Woods, the second player of the day to score five times for his side. Duckmanton Community are winless in THREE but not so in the Chatsworth after they beat Harleys Scarlets 3-2. Brampton Oaks Sports are safely through to the next round as David Brent scored twice as they beat Red Lion Whittington Moor 4-2, likewise Renishaw Rangers who beat Hollingwood Athletic 4-1.

One game in the Hutson Cup and it saw goals from Harrison, Sanderson, Eggleston and Booth earn Palterton a 4-0 victory over Newbold Community Football Training

There was also one game in the Derbyshire Junior Sunday Cup and it saw Dronfield Wanderers bow out of the competition after extra time, losing 4-2 to Stockbridge.
