The final NAPIT LEAGUE games of 2014 took place on Sunday and appropriately the top two in NAPIT ONE, Hasland Devonshire and FC Britannia met to decide who would start the new year at the top of the league. In the event the honors ended even as the game finished level at 2-2 keeping Hasland two points ahead of Britannia going into the new year although Britannia do have two games in hand with neither side having suffered a league defeat thus far. Jason Foster and Nathan Whitehead hit Britannia's goals with Lee Clay and James Senior doing likewise for the leaders. Hepthorne Lane and New Whitt met in the other game in ONE and amazingly in an ill tempered game Lane had three players shown red cards and more amazingly they still managed to claim a point as this game also ended level at two goals each, Mark Edinboro and Jordan Burrows on target for the eight men, Gary Morton and Adam Barrrat for New Whit.
In TWO Dronfield Woodhouse conceded ten the previous week and despite a much improved performance at West End Killamarsh they still slipped to defeat, this time by five goals to one. AshleyUnwin ended the year on a high scoring three for West End as Gary Parsons hit the other two. Brampton Rovers JMA met Black Swan in a six pointer towards the bottom of the division with the latter claiming the spoils by virtue of a 2-1 victory. Swan have had their off field problems of late but where it counts most, on the pitch, goals from Fisher and Evans cancelled out Steph Gill's effort for JMA to hand them the three points.
Creswell Black Diamond have had a fantastic season in THREE to date and ended the year in fine style, beating AFC North Wingfield by four goals to two to open up a seven point advantage at the top of the division. Gareth Colbert, Steve Colbert, David Hall and Daniel Jackson were on target for Diamond for whom the win was the ninth of the season.
Newbold beat Gate Inn North Wingfield in a five goal thriller to end 2014 on top of Four. There was little to choose between the two sides as Stuart Bicknall and Josh Mallinder found the net for Gate, however two strikes from Daniel Keenan plus a third from Connor Martin won the day for Newbold. Mid table Oxcroft United took on bottom side Harleys Scarlets and they too won by the odd goal in five, James Blakeley, Ross Murcott and Adam Kimberley scoring the winning goals. Duckmanton Community were also winners, their success coming against Oaks FC whom they beat by two goals to one, Steve Johnson and Martin Newman the match winners.
Two games were played in FIVE and both were drawn. Strugglers Palterton Sporting will be delighted with their point which came against fourth placed Renishaw Rangers. Alan Eggleston Jnr and James Lockwood scored Sporting's two goals which were equalled by Daniel Turner and Anthony Deane in the 2-2 draw. Royal Oak Rangers and New All Inn Drew 1-1, Alex Offless scoring for Rangers, Matt Gregory for All Inn.
Furnace Hill Hurricanes ended the year in style in SIX as they thumped leaders Brampton Rovers Reserves 4-0 moving up to second place in the process. Rovers had only been beaten once prior to the game but goals from Adam Seward, all four of them in fact condemned Rovers to defeat number two. Hasland Community Eagles also won 4-0, this time Dronfield Wanderers the losing side. Community went ahead in the eleventh minute through Jordan Jackson but it was in the second half that community really dominated with further goals being scored by Daniel Froggatt, Spencer Hindle and Adam Plant to confirm the win. Hasland Working Men's club battled to a 2-1 win against an improving Evoloution. Defender Marc Rawson scored his 8th goal of the season, before Evolution drew level however Matt Bower scored the winner to move Hasland up to mid table. Chris Clayton scored twice, Sam Wells once as Renishaw MW Reserves beat Holmhall 2nd 3-0.
In SEVEN bottom side Renishaw Rangers TFC slumped to another defeat, this time at the hands of Brimington Club and it was a big defeat at that as they lost by nine goals to nil. Fellow strugglers Newbold Community Football Training were also beaten this time by Grassmoor Sports Reserves for whom Scott Chambers, David Greaves and Macauley Millington were on target. Glapwell Gladiators and Charlie's Clay Cross Athletic shared the points as they drew 3-3 whilst Dronfield Town were beaten 3-1 by Squadron Medical.
