The weather may be cold but the race for the NAPIT LEAGUE title warmed up on Sunday as Creswell Black Diamond turned up the heat on defending champions Hasland Devonshire by beating them by two goals to one, allowing FC Britannia to open up a six point lead at the top of the table after they beat Hepthorne Lane four nil. Devonshire who had drawn their previous two league games were hoping for a much needed three points but Diamond produced probably their best display of the season to deny them. There was little to choose between the two sides as Daniel Mason scored for Devonshire however a goal each from Jordan Claxton and Richie Mason steered Diamond to victory. Britannia in stark contrast had won four of their last five and goals from Chris Bettany, Daniel Fields, Callum Lytham and Nico De Girolamo secured their eighth win of the campaign to leave them in pole position. The New Whit revival continues to gather pace, their 2-0 win over Tibshelf Town being their third win in five games, a run which has moved them up into mid-table, Gary Morton and Jamie Growcutt the scorers in the defeat of Town.

In TWO all eyes were on the top of the table clash between Woodthorpe Inn and AFC Bolsover who began the day level on points, Woodthorpe top on goal difference only however at the end of the ninety minutes there was daylight between the two sides as Woodthorpe won by three goals to one to go three points clear. Dean Spencer scored a treble as third placed Grassmoor Sports beat Dronfield Woodhouse 5-0, Grant Mitchell scoring the other two goals whilst Wingerworth BMB won 4-0 at Black Swan.

THREE leaders Creswell Black Diamond Reserves went six points clear at the top as they beat Hady Villa 4-2. This has been Diamond's best season ever and on current form they look a good bet to lift the the title trophy come May. Their match winners in this, their eleventh win of the season were David Hall, Daniel Jackson, Daniel Murdoch and Ashley Rouse. Behind Black Diamond just one point separates three teams. New Whitt B didn't play but Clowne Wanderers Reserves did, beating Hollingwood Athletic 3-1 to join them on thirty points as Pilsley Community beat Steelmelters Arms Killamarsh by the same score. On target for Wanderers was Cooper who scored all three, Ben Warsop scoring two, Matt Shiels one for Community. AFC North Wingfield took on Ark Tavern and beat them 4-1 Matt Towndrow and Chris Collins scoring two goals each.

FOUR leaders Newbold eased to a 4-1 victory at Club FC with Callum Dovison headlining with a well taken hat trick. Club did have their moments but Newbold played really well throughout and looked to be on their way to a shut out before Gary Brooks headed home for a club in stoppage time at the end of the second half. Oxcroft Utd are up to third following a closely fought contest with Oaks FC whom they just edged out by three goals to two, Ashley Grayson scoring twice, Tom Marshall once. Duckmanton Community entertained Crown Killamarsh and a hat trick from Danny Holmes helped condemn them to a 5-2 reverse.

Holmehall stay top of FIVE following the 7-0 rout of third placed Brimwood Utd in a comprehensive victory in which Alex Wildman hit a hat trick. If Holmehall's win was emphatic second placed Brimington Utd's was more so as they completely outclassed Castle arms as both Alex Howard and Chris Marshall scored three in an 11-1 mauling. Another hat trick man was New All Inn's Mick Nash as his side beat Palterton Sporting Club 6-0. Renishaw Rangers and Old Whittington MW drew 3-3 whilst Spartans beat Royal Oak Rangers 5-1, Simon Ross scoring a couple.

Brampton Rovers Reserves cruised to an easy 6-0 win over Hasland WMC to open up a seven point gap between themselves and second placed Fidlers Rest in SIX. Rovers were dominant throughout as Elliott Crowther's hat trick, a brace from Stephen Siddall and one from Ben Pinkney saw them victorious. Second from bottom Evolution picked up three good points as they beat fourth placed Furnace Hill Hurricanes 4-2, Gardeners Clay Cross won 3-1 at Dronfield Wanderers and Renishaw MW Res drew 2-2 with Hasland Eanderers.

In SEVEN Brimington Utd Shoes continue to dominate as a 7-2 win over Ye Old Nags Head moved them sixteen points clear of second placed Glapwell Gladiators who recovered from being 3-1 down to beat Darley Dale Red Star by four goals to three, Dave Canning scoring twice.
Mark Mowbray was in fine form for Utd Shoes, scoring another hat-trick to take his total to twenty-five for the season. Andrew Mosley, Dale Navin, Kieran Maloney also weighed in with a goal apiece. The seventh came from goalkeeper Adam Rhodes who made a rare visit into the oppositions penalty area to converted a penalty kick. Grassmoor Sports Res beat Dronfield Town 2-1 and finally Newbold Community drew 2-2 with Brimington Club.
