This week saw another shortened league programme with bad weather having its say and County Cup 2nd Round fixtures taking place.

WEATHER TAKES ITS TOLL !

This week saw another shortened league programme with bad weather having its say and County Cup 2nd Round fixtures taking place.

In the County Cups congratulations to SS Bulls Head FC, Rumour Mill (Barwell) FC and Hinckley Wanderers FC who all progressed to Round 3 where they will be joined by Barwell Cricketers FC who received a Walkover when Crown FC folded. There was disappointment for Athletico Duke FC and Swan Dive FC who just fell short.

Over in NDSFL PREMIER LEAGUE action, Ridge Lane saw themselves pick up a 4-1 win at home to Poplar Athletic. Leo Franklin hit 2 with Conor McEwan and Macaulay Ridgeway adding the singles for Ridge Lane. Connor Corden scored Poplar’s goal.

In NDSFL LEAGUE ONE, Coniston Tavern were also 4-1 winners as they saw off Chetwynd Phoenix. Eric Allen, Logan Cain, Danny Edmond and Antonio Williams scoring for Coniston. Chetwynd's goal coming from an own goal.

Goals from Callum Beckwith, Chris Neal and Sam Blower were not enough to give Desford-Caterpillar the win but they did get a share of the spoils, as Royal Trent goals from Connor McCallum, Levi Tindall and James Storer saw the game finish 3-3.
Witherley United Reserves came came from a goal down in MARK BLAIR FINANCE LEAGUE TWO to win 2-1 against Bedworth Ex-Servicemen. Jamie Matthews gave the Servicemen the lead but goals from Bobby Gould and Brad Jenkins turned the tables in Witherley’s favour.

Newdigate United took advantage of the top three not playing to go top of NUNEATON TROPHIES LEAGUE THREE as they beat Earl Shilton Town 6-1. Tom Noon and Harry Lewis both scoring braces and singles from Will Goddard and Cole Burchell for Newdigate. Alex Purkiss scored the Earl Shilton reply.

Griff and Coton Manor Reserves picked up a 7-3 win away to Lamb and Flag. Ryan Skidmore’s hat-trick, 2 from Matt Skagra singles from Monteo Silk-Nielsen and Ben Howells with the Griff goals. Johnny Clark, Adam Nelmes and Ayomide Adeleke hit the target for Lamb and Flag.

The game between Hearty Goodfellow Reserves and Anchor Inn (Hartshill) seemed to be heading for a stalemate until Travis Atkins hit the winner in the 89th minute to win it 1-0 for Hearty.
