HAUNCHWOOD SPORTS FC - LEAGUE ONE

Last Sunday saw the 2023-2024 TRIBUNE CUP SPONSORED BY STUART PLUMBING get underway as some clubs from League one, two and three did battle in the Preliminary Round.

TRIBUNE CUP THROWS UP A FEW SURPRISES !

Last Sunday saw the 2023-2024 TRIBUNE CUP SPONSORED BY STUART PLUMBING get underway as some clubs from League one, two and three did battle in the Preliminary Round.
One noticeable giant killing took place at Clarendon Park as League three Hinckley Wanderers captured a 3-1 win against League One Bedworth Liberal. Kobi Jones, Mitch Elson and Jamie Roe with the goals to send Hinckley through. Kenny Davies scored the Libs goal.

Another side to beat higher league opposition were Ashby Road Sports as they beat Hearty Goodfellow 3-2 thanks to goals from Matt Mangiante, Nick Richardson and Jake Hughes. Liam Watts replied with a brace for Hearty.
Barwell Cricketers eased into the next round after a comfortable 8-1 victory at Crow's Nest Sports. Matthew Pratt’s hat-trick, with a brace from Rich Durose and goals from Cam Atkinson, Hugh Latham and Tom Gault scoring for Cricketer’s. The Crows Nest consolation coming from George Arnold.

Chetwynd Phoenix were pushed all the way to the last kick against Rumour Mill (Barwell) goals from Daniel Reidy, Daniel Leach, Sam Jones and Will Taylor saw Chetwynd win 4-3. Wes Moore, Joe Randle and Danny Winterbotham on target for the Barwell side.

Will Groocock’s hat-trick, 2 from Kaine Finch and a Jacob Townsend goal saw Athletico Duke pick up a 6-3 win against Lamb and Flag, Oliver Blackmore, Bradley Bates and Jude Barnett replying for the Flag.

Conny United hit Attleborough Sports for 6 without reply thanks to goals from Arlie Greet, Luke Childs, James Mangham, Oli Menzies and a Dan Hendrie brace seeing the Sapcote side into the next round.

Steven Merry hit a hat-trick for Acorn as they brushed aside Sunnyside 7-1. Damien Pierce’s brace, Jack Millerchip and Joshua Walton completing the scoring for Acorn. Josh Varden scored the Sunnyside goal.

Entering the competition for the first time were Bedworth Ex-Servicemen's and they made sure it would not be a flying visit as they beat SS Bulls Head 4-1, Harvey Westwood capturing a hat-trick and a Dylan Edwards goal for Servicemen. Ryan Brightwell scores the Bulls Head goal.

Attleborough Royal Oak hit 10 against Anchor Inn (Hartshill), 6 coming from Danny Edmunds, a Henley Hadley hat-trick and an Adam Watts single with the goals. Mark Mulholland, Alex Taylor and Nathan Fulleylove replied for Anchor with the game finishing 10-3.

Elsewhere, in the NDSFL PREMIER LEAGUE, Drayton went top on goal difference thanks to a 9-0 thrashing of Poplar Athletic. 2 goals each for Jack Bonell, Jake Sharp and Connor Page and singles from Lewis Commins, Jack Boffin and Bobby Robinson on the scoresheet for Drayton.

Witherley United’s 100% winning start to the season was ended by Collycroft Royal Oak as they ran out 7-2 winners. 4 goals from Riley O’Sullivan and singles from Jack Burchell, Idris Wassa and Louie O’Connor with the Collycroft goals. Jordan Coles and Alex Taylorson replied for Witherley.

2 goals from Joshua Bird and a David Jefferies goal made sure Ambleside came away with a 3-2 win at Bedworth Bank. Wendell Moyo and Landon Fairbrother scoring the Bank goals.
Ridge Lane beat Griff and Coton Manor 3-1 thanks to Aden Moore’s brace and a Toby Bartram goal. Josh Jarman replied for Griff.

In LEAGUE ONE, Coniston Tavern won 6-1 against Royal Trent. Eric Allen and Shane Hunter with 2 each and singles from Harry Davies and Kieron Brehon completed the scoring for Tavern. Liam Taylor-Smith scored the goal Trent goal.
Haunchwood Sports kept their perfect start alive with a 3-1 win over Ambleside Reserves. Callum Fawcett, Mark Williams and Simeon Townsend with the Haunchwood strikes. Lee Wilkins replied for Ambleside ressies.

Swan Dive are looking like the side to beat in MARK BLAIR FINANCE LEAGUE TWO as they carried on their 100% winning start. Goals from a Raja Asif double and singles from Sam Fenwick and Nathan McInnis making sure they won 4-2 against Travs. The Travs goals coming from Freddie Wakelin and Michael Hutchinson.

Josh Smith hit the only goal of the game as Phoenix United claimed a 1-0 win over Saunders Hall

Adrian Talbott hit 4 for Weddington Athletic as they beat Griff and Coton Manor Reserves 6-1 in NUNEATON TROPHIES LEAGUE THREE. Dean Cooke and Gareth Orr completed the scoring for Weddy. Matty Skagra hit the Griff Res goal.

Bedworth Bank Reserves came out on top of a close encounter against Earl Shilton Town with goals from Zak Bhara, Nick Sawyer and Kye Smith helping them pick up a 3-2 win. Strad Kyriacou and Aidan Hawkins scored the Shilton goals.
