Contrasting fortunes of the week saw CLIFTON ALL WHITES move up to third place and INGLES drop into the bottom three. The two met in midweek at Green Lane with goals from Alex Haughton on 29 minutes and Ryan Smith’s second half brace giving the home side a 3-0 win. They followed this up with three first half goals on their visit to the Riverside on Saturday. Paul Durham put them in front in the fourth minute with Nick O’Rafferty and Alex Haughton adding further goals before the break. Gideon Donker pulled one back for struggling BARROW TOWN on the stroke of half time and Tim Mangan got a second five minutes into the second period, and despite the fight back the Riversiders still prop up the table.
And also remaining pointless are TEVERSAL as GRAHAM STREET PRIMS recorded their first points of the campaign with a 2-0 victory given them by first half goals from Jake Dickinson and Charlie Goodwin.
Still boasting 100% records are OLLERTON TOWN who have yet to concede a goal and SHERWOOD COLLIERY. Ollerton lowered HUCKNALL TOWN’s colours for the first time this season with a narrow victory in this top-of-the-table clash given to them by Gav King’s 46th minute goal in front of the day’s best crowd of 143.
Sherwood Colliery meanwhile kept their record alive with a 3-1 win over KIMBERLEY MINERS WELFARE thanks to second half goals from Charlie Taylor and a brace from Kieran Wells after the visitors had gone ahead through a Sam Parker goal on 21 minutes.
BELPER UNITED are proving to be the surprise packet of the season so far keeping up their scoring for fun record with a 5-0 win at BORROWASH VICTORIA. Josh Wright, Jack Tyson and James Ozmen put them into a comfortable advantage by the break, and a brace from substitute James Rushby towards the end of the game brought up the final score line.
CLIPSTONE’s 100% record went for a burton as WEST BRIDGFORD claimed all three points on their visit to the Lido. Two minutes before half time Joshua Rae put the Trentsiders in front and this was added to by Aboubacar Sylla in the 67th minute. Jack Warwick pulled one back with five minutes remaining but the visitors held out.
On a terrible day for watching football only 748 spectators turned out to watch the ten East Midlands Counties League games, but 112 of them braved the elements to see RADFORD claim the points with two first half goals at GEDLING MINERS WELFARE. Buba Ceesay on 22 minutes and Calum Law in first half stoppage time but the visitors in control with Rueben Wigging-Thomas getting a late consolation for the Miners who had Felix Hogg sent off with 14 minutes remaining for two yellow card offences.
RAINWORTH MINERS WELFARE came back from the dead to beat DUNKIRK who had taken a two-goal lead inside the first 21 minutes through Jordan Alls and Michael Fitzhugh. Ryan Ingram got the home side back into the game just before the break and second half goals from Owen Clarke and Craig Mitchell turned the deficit around to claim the points.
Early goals from Sam Vickers and Corbi Brown inside the first 12 minutes put HEANOR TOWN in control of their game against INGLES, and the visitors suffered their second defeat of the week as Vickers and new boy James Batterham added further home goals in the second half.
EASTWOOD COMMUNITY enjoyed an excellent away win thanks to first half goals from Gareth Curtis and Ross Parker before Curtis again and Kieran Knight added another brace in the second period. Home side SHIREBROOK TOWN, who had enjoyed a good start to the season, could only reply with a last minute Grant Mitchell goal.
